Scholarships in Germany for International Students 2024

There are different types of scholarships available for the international students in Germany for the academic 2025-2026. These scholarship programs include both fully funded and partially funded scholarships and also provide monthly stipends including tuition fees, health insurance, travel allowance, and accommodation charges. 

Therefore you can apply for a fully funded scholarship and fulfill your dream of studying at German Universities such as Heidelberg University, Technical University of Munich, The Humboldt University of Berlin, and many other universities. Here is the list of different scholarships available for international students in Germany.

 

1.DAAD Scholarship

It is a fully funded scholarship for international students. The scholarship is available for PhD or master's students at many top German universities. DAAD scholarship includes monthly payments of up to 934 euros for graduates and 1200 euros for PhD candidates.

2.Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarship

Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Foundation Scholarship is also a fully paid scholarship program. The scholarship is provided for postgraduate and undergraduate studies in Germany. The scholarship covers a monthly stipend up to EUR, health insurance, and family and baby allowances where applicable.

3. International Max Planck Research School PhD Scholarship

It is also a fully funded scholarship for international students. Pension contributions, health insurance, and many other benefits are included in the scholarship program. The net amount paid for PhD students is a minimum of 1700EUR every month.

4. IMB International PhD Program

It is also a fully funded scholarship for international students in Germany. The scholarship provides the expense for travel and accommodation.

5. Deutsches Museum Scholar in Residence Program

It is also a fully funded scholarship program for international students in Germany. The scholarship is offered for pre-doctoral and postdoctoral research. The scholarship provides 30000 Euros as a stipend every year.

Level of study: Postdoctoral / Pre-doctoral research

 

6. Humboldt Research Fellowships 

It is also a fully funded scholarship program for international students willing to study in Germany. The scholarship is provided for the post-doctoral studies of the students. Under this scholarship program, the students are provided with a monthly stipend of 3150 Euros and also provided with additional financial help for keeping the family members and other items.

7. Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarship

It is another scholarship that offers a fully sponsored scholarship for international students. The scholarship is offered for master's and PhD degrees. The scholarship helps in providing complete scholarships to students that cover the total duration of their studies.

8. The Leo Baeck Fellowship Program

It is also a fully sponsored scholarship program that provides an opportunity for international students to study at a German university. The scholarship provides a monthly stipend of 1350 EUR along with a monthly allowance for research amounting to 100 EUR.

9. SBW Berlin Scholarship 

It is also fully sponsored for international students. The scholarship is provided to international students pursuing master's and undergraduate studies. In this scholarship, the students are provided with a 100 percent waiver of tuition fees, accommodation, monthly stipend, travel allowance, and many other benefits.

10. Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung Scholarships

It is also a fully sponsored scholarship program for international students. The scholarships are provided for master's and PhD programs.  In the scholarship, the students are provided with 1350 EUR every month. Also, an additional amount of around 100 EUR is provided for research costs along with other healthcare subsidies.

11. Neufert-Foundation Scholarships

These scholarships are open for international students willing to study architecture in Germany for a master's program. The Neufert Foundation provides scholarships to students pursuing architecting, urban development, and landscaping, by completing their bachelor's degree and starting their master's program.

12. Jacobs University Bremen Scholarships

It is also a fully paid scholarship program provided to international students. The scholarship is available for a master's degree and is provided on a merit basis and amounts to 12000EUR.

13. Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Scholarship is a fully paid sponsorship program for international students. The scholarship program is available for master's and PhD. The scholarship will provide the students with a monthly stipend of 850 EUR in master's degree, and 1200 EUR in PhD course. It will also cover the tuition fees and accommodation charges for the students.

14. Facebook PhD Fellowship

The Facebook Fellowship Program 2024-2025 is a fully funded scholarship program for international students. The scholarship is available for doctoral research studies. The scholarship provides two years of study feeds along with travel aid and stipend aid.

Level of Study: PhD

 

15. Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program

The Joint Japan World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program is a fully paid scholarship program for international students studying for master's. JJ/WBGSP, the scholarship will cover all the expenses related to tuition fees, economy class air travel, accommodation, and a monthly stipend for living.

16. Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program

It is also a fully funded scholarship for international students. This scholarship is accessible for PhD students and provides the recipient with around 42.750 dollars per fellowship. The duration for each fellowship is around 8 months.

17. IIE-SRF Fellowship

It is also a fully funded scholarship program for international students. Students studying for doctoral programs can apply for this scholarship. IIE-SRF provides a grant of $25,000 along with health insurance and assists with academic appointments for one year.

18. ECTRIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Exchange Program

ECTRIMS Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Exchange Program is accessible to all international students across the world, willing to undertake postdoctoral research in multiple Sclerosis and Neuroscience. The major objective of the research program of the scholarship program is to increase the exchange of information and help in building a pool of well-trained students and research scientists.

19. Human Frontier Science Program Postdoctoral Fellowships

These scholarships are also available for international students in Germany. The HFSP fellowship provides living expenses along with research and travel allowances.

20. IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program

IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship Program is also a fully sponsored PhD program for international students. The International Mathematical Institution Union Scholarship amounts to a maximum of $10000 every year and provides tuition fees, travel expenses, accommodation, and living expenses of the student.

21. Schlumberger Foundation Faculty for the Future Fellowship

It is also a funded scholarship program for international students in Germany. The scholarship for the students is around $50000 every year for PhD students and $40000 for post PhD students. The scholarship can even be renewed after the completion of the program.

22. Facebook PhD program

Facebook Fellowship Program is also a fully sponsored program that is provided to doctoral research students. The scholarship covers the expenses of the two years of study, and fees and also provides an annual stipend and travel aid for conferences.
